Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Licensed General Contractor with GF 8 and GF 9 certifications in New Mexico to manage and oversee construction projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in commercial construction, a strong understanding of construction codes and regulations, and excellent project management and leadership skills. This position requires a focus on delivering high-quality work, meeting deadlines, and ensuring compliance with safety standards and local building codes.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee all aspects of construction projects, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and coordinating subcontractors and vendors.
Ensure all projects comply with state and local building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
Review project specifications, blueprints, and contracts to ensure clarity and accuracy before work begins.
Obtain necessary permits and licenses required for construction projects and ensure all work is inspected and approved.
Manage and supervise on-site construction teams, ensuring proper techniques, safety protocols, and quality control standards are adhered to.
Prepare and manage project budgets, track expenses, and submit accurate cost reports.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Resolve any issues or disputes that arise during the construction process, including coordinating with the project manager, architect, and other stakeholders.
Conduct regular site inspections and provide progress reports to clients and stakeholders.
Maintain clear and consistent communication with clients regarding project timelines, budgets, and any changes to the scope of work.
Stay up-to-date on industry trends, building codes, and best practices.
Qualifications:
Valid GF 8 (General Building Contractor) and GF 9 (Fabrication Contractor) certifications in the State of New Mexico.
Minimum of 1 years of experience in the construction industry with a focus on general contracting.
Extensive knowledge of construction techniques, materials, and equipment.
Strong understanding of New Mexico building codes, regulations, and permitting processes.
Proven experience managing commercial construction projects from start to finish.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction plans, and specifications.
Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Familiarity with project management software and other construction management tools.
Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications:
Additional certifications or specialized training in construction management.
Previous experience working with oil and gas or municipal projects.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
